Elwood James Lauck, 71, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on June 26, 2020. Elwood was born in Findlay, Ohio on November 1, 1948 to the late Harold and Loretta Lauck. He attended Lorain Community College before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving in Vietnam. He spent his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring after over 40 years of service. In his free time, Elwood was a train enthusiast. He had an elaborate train set at his home and always enjoyed watching the trains travel through the Cuyahoga Valley. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and Arizona. He was a kind, gentle person who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Elwood was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra Lauck; mother-in-law, Betty Douglas; brother-in-law, Everett Hughes; and grandson, Joshua Ritchey. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty Lauck; daughter, April (Ryan) Freeman; stepsons, Jason Ritchey, Jamie (Robin) Ritchey, and Jeremy (Stacy) Ritchey; sister, Marlene Hughes; brother, Dale (Susan) Lauck; sisters-in-law, Donna (Sam) Margucci and Bonnie (John) Bizzarri; brother-in-law, Ron (Denise) Douglas; grandchildren, Hailey, Alyssa, Jonathan, Aodhan, Christy, Penny, Roscoe, and Andrew; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Tallmadge Alliance Church, 1155 East Ave, Tallmadge, Pastor Zach Reeves officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa.
