Ely John Skorich

Ely John Skorich, 91, went home to be with the Lord on July 9th, 2024 at Highland Square Nursing Home. He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 31st, 1932 to the late George Skorich and Mary Skorich (Jocovic). Ely worked most of his life in factories. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved taking hikes, fishing & riding his motorcycle and spending time with his brother Andy. Ely was never married nor had any children.

Ely was preceded in death by his 4 other siblings, Mary, Mike ,Margaret, Emil Skorich, whom he was very close with & his niece, Debbie Wood. He leaves his nieces, Mary Owens (Skorich) of Ohio & Kathy Kerecman of California; great nephew, Bobby Owens & great niece Kimberley Owens & many other great nephews & nieces.

He loved his country and was a Veteran of the United States Navy Air Reserves. I would like to thank Highland Square Nursing Home & Harmony Cares Hospice for the great care they gave my uncle. There will be no calling hrs. Ely will be buried at East Akron Cemetery, close to his dad & mom Thursday, July 18th 2024 at 1 pm. All are welcome.
