Emanuel E. Lockett "Big M"

Emanuel E. Lockett, "Big M", 66, of Akron, went home to be with his Lord on February 1, 2020. He was born in Akron on September 22, 1953 to the late Allan A. and Sallie Mae (nee Gaines) Lockett. Big M graduated from East High School and retired from Local 894 after over 30 years of service. He received Christ as his Savior at an early age and currently worshiped at The Church of God MPGT. In his free time, Big M enjoyed fishing, playing chess, reading the newspaper, and tending to his yard and garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Terita Christian; and siblings, Melvin, Cloyed, Collie, Armie Lee, Kenny Wayne, Allan Jr., and Lorene. He will be dearly missed by his loving companion, Rachele Greer; children, Dr. Nekimba, DeAnna, Jajuana, David (Marquetta), Dametrius, Tequia, Joron, Tiffany, LaTasha, Phillip, Marcus, and Markes; siblings, Sallie (Fred), Juanita, Lorease, and William (Gloria); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral at The Church of God MPGT, 200 Cole Ave., Akron, OH 44301, Elder Henry Brunson officiating.
