Emanuel Hampton Jr.

Emanuel Hampton Jr., 82, of Akron, went Home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2018. Emanuel was born in Maplesville, Alabama on December 15, 1935 to the late Emanuel and Lula Mae (Mitchell) Hampton. Emanuel was a graduate of Barberton High School and worked at Babcock & Wilcox for many years. Most recently he worked at Lectromelt Casting Company.

In addition to his parents, Emanuel was preceded in death by his wife Garnetta (Ball) Hampton; brothers, James, Lenzo, Tommie, Julius and Joseph Donell, and sister, Lizzie Ruth Hampton.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Emanuel (Patrina) Hampton, III; granddaughter, Lashay; brothers, John (Anna) Hampton of Indianapolis, IN and Samuel (Lula) Hampton, Sr. of Akron, OH; sisters, Mary E. Chattom of Indianapolis, IN and Esterlena (James) Higginbottom of Akron, OH; sisters-in-law, Mabel Cheatham, Marion Ripley and Dorothy Vandiver, all of Akron, OH, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 11 am until time of Home Going Celebration starting at 12 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron with Overseer Samuel Hampton II eulogizing and Pastor Andrae Hampton officiating. Emanuel will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery.
