Emilio Mallardi
Emilio Mallardi, 90, passed away August 12, 2006 after a brief illness. Emilio was a proud World War II veteran. He served in the 43rd Infantry Division of the Army Corps of Engineers. He was deployed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was awarded three bronze stars. Emilio worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a proud member of the Veterans Association and the NRA. Emilio was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Rose; wife, Mildred; and brothers, Victor, Art, Bill, Louis, and Chuck. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Mallardi-Smith and her husband, David of Munroe Falls; grandson, David Dominic Mallardi and his wife, Sandra of Stow; great-grandson, Joseph Dominic Mallardi of Stow; sisters, Lucy Yareff and Teresa Mastin, both of Akron; brothers, Daniel and wife, Rosemary of Tampa, FL, Richard of Akron, OH and sister in law Francesca of Akron; cousins, Tony Ladd, Jim and Mary Procacio, Helen Rich, and Esther Patton; best friends, Carl and Sissy Howard; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N.
