Emma L. Caine

November 22, 1949 — February 27, 2025

Mother Emma L. Caine took the hand of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 27, 2025. She was born on November 22, 1949, in Louisville, Mississippi, to her loving parents Isaiah and Ceola Harris.

She was a proud graduate of Camille High School, Class of 1968, where she developed a deep sense of faith, love, and kindness that would go on to become the foundation of her life. Mother Caine had a heart full of compassion and if you knew her, you know she never met a stranger-she welcomed everyone with warmth, grace, and a hug. She was affectionately known as "Mother" or "Nanny", titles she carried with love and devotion.

Mother Emma Caine worked as an inspector at Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant for 31 years. She was a dedicated member of UAW Local 122. Though she lived simply, her heart was immeasurable, and she found joy in attending church, shopping, and spending cherished time with family and friends. She had a flair for style and carried herself with grace.

Her greatest joy was being a hands-on grandmother to her beloved grandson, Tevin. Before illness touched her life, she loved to sing and had a special fondness for seafood. Her faith was unwavering and her love for Christ was unmatched. During her time at Shelton Temple COGIC and Greater Holy Trinity COGIC, Mother Emma Caine served actively in several ministries, which laid the foundation for her continued service at Abundant Faith Ministries COGIC. Under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth McGraw, Sr., she remained a devoted member, faithfully serving as President of the Pastor’s Aide, on the Mother’s Board, and the Hands of Love Ministry. Her kindness, strength, and steadfast love left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father Isaiah Harris, mother Ceola Harris, bonus mother Arceola Harris, brother Isaac Harris, sisters Anniebell Gayden and Maudie Judon, niece Anita Gooden, and nephew Stanley Harris.

Mother Emma Caine leaves to cherish her loving husband Willie Caine; children, Christopher Harris (Philadelphia, PA), Elissa Harris (Cuyahoga Falls, OH), Michael Williams (Cleveland, OH); brother, Eddie L. Johnson (Oceanside, CA); sisters, Elizabeth Cistrunk (Tallmadge, OH), Dorthy Waldrip (Louisville, MS), Lula Wilson(Philadelphia, MS); sisters-in-law, Rosie Harris, Liza Johnson, and Belle Burney; grandchildren, Tevin Johnson, DeJuan Jackson, ReoAnna Harris; special grandson, Pastor Allen Averett; Godchildren, Star Hudge, Daphane Jett, and Anthony Sheffey, a host of special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
