Erben J. Kistler (Erbie)
Erben J. Kistler, 83, passed away into the presence of the Lord on November 13, 2006. He was born on December 22, 1922 in Colorado Springs. He was a resident of Akron since 1942 and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Blue and Gold Club. Erbie was an avid fisherman and spent almost every vacation fishing in Canada. He was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was an active member of Joppa Lodge and Tadmor Shrine. Erbie is survived by his loving wife, Lucile Kistler; daughters, Nancy (Bill) Randall, Phyllis (Bernie) Dunn, and Janet (Jeff) Hartney; grandchildren, Carrie (Jim) Stanley, Janene (Jason) Eplin, Guy (Melanie) Randall, Gina Moore, Jill Hauer, and Jamie Bourgeois; special great-grandson, Justin Oberlin and nine other great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends. A service to honor and celebrate Erbie's life will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 5 p.m. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
