Ernie G. Williams, Sr.
Ernie G. Williams, Sr., 86, passed away November 26, 2011 after a short illness. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 38 years of service. Ernie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley; and brothers, Charles Williams, Okey Williams, Loman Williams, and Virgil Williams. He is survived by his children, Dorothy (Jack) Adkins, Ernie G. Williams Jr., and Michael (Cheryl) Williams; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Nicholas, Brian, and Kayla; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Claris Williams, Garl Williams, and Harley Williams; sister, Frieda Knicley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 29, from 12 to 2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Steve Wellman and Ken Thurman officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
