Esther Arlene Carpenter
Esther Arlene Carpenter, 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2009. She was born in Akron on March 14, 1926. Esther was a member of Eastgate Alliance Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and crafts. She will be fondly remembered as a good Christian who loved the Lord and her precious family. Preceded in death by her sisters Martha Thomas, Dorothy Martin, and Alice Fowler. Survivors include her beloved husband Edward, of 61 years; daughters Donna Labate and Karen (Dave) Young; son Richard; sisters Ruth (Ken) Thomas and Mary (Al) Gray; brothers David (Jeanie) Reynolds and Ralph (Ann) Reynolds; grandchildren Kimberly, Melinda, Kevin, Christina, Heather, Tonya, Jason, Holli, and Nicole; and 11 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Eastgate Alliance Church, 350 Hilbish Ave. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
