Esther E. "Jim" Nellis (nee Dannemiller), R.N.
Esther E. "Jim" Nellis (nee Dannemiller), R.N., of Ellet, passed away December 6, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. She was born in Doylestown, Ohio on July 28, 1927. She was a member of St. Matthew Church, the 6th Ward Democratic Womens Club, AARP, Ellet Keenagers, Nurses Alumnae Association and Womens Mogadore Moose. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gerald F. Nellis; mother and father, Marie & Evelyn (Whitman) Dannemiller; sisters, Evelyn Yehl and Norma Hiller. Surviving are her sons, Thomas A. (Linda) of Atwater, Gerald D. (Kelly) of Randolph, David M. of Akron; granddaughters, Michelle (Jeff) Wohlwend, Theresa (Jamie) Moffett, Shannon and Heather Nellis; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Evan and Victoria Wohlwend, Paige and Cody Moffett; sisters, Margaret Roberts and Emma Dannemiller of Pound, Virginia, Shirley (George) Gainer of North Lawrence, Carol (Ken) Burkhart of Uniontown; brother, George (Marion) Dannemiller of Seville; brother-in-law, Virgil Yehl of Cleveland; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Church. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be held at the convenience of the family at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Doylestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Masses, Visiting Nurse Service or Lustgarten Research Center for Pancreatic Cancer, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage NY 11714.
