Esther Lucile Powers

Esther Powers, née Brose, departed this life on 20th April 2024. Born to Michael and Nora Brose on 13th October 1930 in Bucyrus, Ohio, Esther was married to Gordon Powers for fifty-five years, until his passing in 2006. She is survived by daughters Lynda Garberoglio (Ron), Ellen Sobocinski (Carl), Aileen, and grandchildren Alyson and Michael.
Esther led a long and sometimes arduous life. Born just as the Great Depression began, she saw World War II unfold, experienced agricultural labor, factory work, office jobs, and most recently was a crossing guard for Cuyahoga Falls. With husband Gordon she enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and summers at their holiday trailer near the Lake. Her legacy continues through her expert embroidery and needlework.
