Esther L. Stopher, 85, of Akron, passed away on January 5, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1938 the daughter of the late Jurl and Bonnie Jarvis of West Virginia. She retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Akron General Medical Center. She absolutely loved her family and she would enjoy making her famous chicken stir fry and 7 bean casserole to name a few. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, and a sense of humor with a side of feisty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved spouse Bill Stopher; brothers Percy Jarvis, Harold Jarvis, Dewey Jarvis, Hershel Jarvis. and Dencil Jarvis; sisters Alice Morris, and Jean Ballengee.
Esther is survived by her loving family, daughter Debbie O'Donnell; son Paul (Cindy) Zurbuch; step-sons Billy (Judy) Stopher and Eddy Stopher; granddaughters Shelley (Josh) Ferguson and Jessica Swords; step-grandchildren TR (Katie) Stopher and Trudee (Scott) Moore; great-granddaughter Myya Stover; step-great-grandchildren Carter Moore and Riley Moore; sisters Mary (Larry) McCullough and Nellie (Ron) Bokinskie; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
