Ethel (McKenzie) Elam
Ethel (McKenzie) Elam passed away March 4, 2006, at the age of 89. She was born January 5, 1917, to Procter & Carrie McKenzie in Carter County, Kentucky. Ethel married James Harvey Elam in 1933. They settled in Summit County in 1943. She is survived by her daughters Frances Pauline Chapman and JoAnne Davis, and by her son, James Michael Elam. She also had 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter. Services were held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Thursday, March 9 with Rev. Chris McCombs officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her memory to Broadman Baptist Church, 350 E. Bath Rd., Cuyahoga Falls OH 44223. Online condolences may be sent to www.NewcomerFamily.com
