Ethel I. Hodgman, "Mean Rene", age 75 of Randolph Township, passed away on January 27, 2022.
She was born on April 8, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Everett Willard and Kathryn Irene (nee Young) Maddox.
Rene worked for several years and retired from Kent Elastomer. Rene enjoyed bird watching and camping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Rene will be dearly missed by her children, Mike (Sandy) Hodgman, Jimmy (Marilyn) Hodgeman, Michelle Hall, Amber Hodgman and Kathryn Hodgeman; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her siblings also survive, Everett "Bill" (Patricia) Maddox and Tanya Dulworth.
Other than her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Hodgman on August 18, 2017, they were united in marriage on October 14, 1982; her brothers, Damon Maddox and Kevin Maddox; her granddaughter, Sonya James; and her granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hodgeman (nee Gonos) .
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM.
Rene will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hillside Cemetery, Randolph Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the My Community Life Church, 106 South Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, in Ethel's memory.
