Eugene M. McCollam
Eugene M. McCollam, 70, of Deerfield, passed away December 2, 2012. Eugene was born in Mill Creek, West Virginia on January 13, 1942 to the late Ralph and Erma McCollam.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after 40 years of service and he was a member of UAW Local 420. In his free time, Eugene loved hunting, fishing, and muscle cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarmen McCollam and uncle, Virgil Salisbury. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia; sons, Ricky (Angela) McCollam and Virgil "Woody" McCollam; sister, Phyllis (Archie) Stone; niece, Tambra (Chris) Dean; nephew, Archie "Tad" Stone, Jr.; great-niece, Olivia Dean; dear friends, Pat and Wendy Smith; and Erica and Johnny McVey.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 5 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Private burial at Edinburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aluminum Cans for Burned Children, 3100 East 45th St., Ste 214, Cleveland, Ohio 44127.
