Eugene W. Molnar, 40, of Akron, passed away on January 4, 2021 after a long battle with heart failure. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 25, 1980 and graduated from Clare High School in Michigan. Eugene spent part of his childhood on a farm where he worked as a groom. He developed a love for horses and raced harness horses with his family. He was also a stock car driver with his father. Eugene's biggest passion was pool. He was a member of the Akron Pool Players Association and Captain of an 8 ball team. He recently won the Captain's Tournament and a trip to Las Vegas for the World Pool Player Championships.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fredrick and Joy Mangold and Eugene A. Molnar Sr. Eugene will be dearly missed by his fiancee and the love of his life, April Magrell; father, Eugene A. Molnar Jr.; mother and stepfather, Teri and Randall Price; stepsons, Brandon and Nathan Robinson; niece/daughter, Brooke Keeling-Mangold; sisters, Patricia Molnar (Glen), Pamela Turneau (Kelly), and Katie Hicks (Eric); grandmother, Joanne Wills Molnar; many other relatives, friends, and his extended pool playing family. He also leaves his beloved dogs, Leroy and Cole.
Several events will be held to celebrate Eugene's life.
On Saturday, January 16, 2021, a gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Scotty's Cafe, 719 Bush St., Toledo.
On Saturday, January 23, 2021, a benefit pool tournament will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Shooters Sports Pub, 7512 Columbus Rd. NE, Louisville.
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, a gathering will be held in Akron - date and time to be determined.
