Eugene Joseph Walters Jr

Eugene Joseph Walters Jr., died on March 28, 2022 in Uniontown, Ohio, and was born in Maynard, Ohio on August 25, 1932, the son of the late Eugene Joseph and Rose (nee Podlesnik) Walters Sr.

He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School from fist through eighth grand and graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1950. He received an Associates Degree from Ohio University and worked for a time at Firestone.

Eugene was called into active duty in the US Navy in February 1953, he was stationed on a submarine tendered out of Norfolk, Virginia and made two trips to Cuba during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in January 1955.

Eugene taught service technicians and worked in the Heating and Air Conditioning business his entire career, first as an associate at Temperature Control Inc. and then leaving to be a partner in his own business at Comfort Mechanical Inc., retiring in 2000.

Eugene was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green and volunteered with the Labre group and the fish dinners during lent. He also belonged to the Arthritis Swim Group at the Green YMCA and the American Legion Post of Greentown.

He enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling the US and most of all spending time with his family.

Eugene leaves behind his wife Judith; his sons, Steve, Park and Joseph and daughter, Tamara; also his step-children, Lisa, David and Douglas; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
