Eva J. Grubbs, 85, joined the Angels on November 28, 2023. She was born on June 13, 1938 to the late Albert and Lillian Hays in Owings, WV. Eva lived there until age 13, then they made Ohio their home. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She loved playing bingo and spending hours doing crafts. Even with failing eye sight, Eva never stopped making things for everyone. She was very caring and nurturing and she was loved by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a member for many years of the Trinity Church of God. Eva loved her church family and teaching the children about God.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; husband, James A.; son, James W.; baby girl, Yvonne; great-grandson, Jonathan; and granddaughter, Chasity.
She will forever be loved and missed by daughter, Paula; son, Charles (Karen); daughter, Norma (Des); daughter-in-law, Dot; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to everyone at Summa Hospice for the amazing care our mother received. Also, to Tallmadge Health and Rehab for the joy and love our mother felt by the staff and residents - especially by earning her title of "Grandma" by the residents.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 12pm - 2pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2pm. Officiating is son, Charles Grubbs, grandson, Joshua Grubbs and George Pardee.
