Evan Carr
Evan Carr, 79 years old, left this world peacefully to be with our Lord on March 12, 2005. He leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Eloise; son, Larry; granddaughter, Marla and David Sullivan and two great-granddaughters; brother, Jim and Janet Carr and nephews and families; sister-in-law, Suzanne and Dr. Steve Kiltau and families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rhoda Carr and brother, Eugene and Betty Carr. Evan retired from General Tire and was a longtime member of the Akron Baptist Temple. He was a 32nd degree Mason of Joppa Lodge and he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m with visitation from 12-1 at Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Rd., Akron, with Dr. Charles Billington and Rev. Howard Powell officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorials may be made to the Akron Baptist Temple.
