Evelyn E. Hoover

Evelyn E. Hoover, age 102 of Tallmadge, Ohio departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2022.

She was born in Grantsville, Maryland on August 13, 1919, the daughter of the late Walter and Clara Fazenbaker.

She was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver to many. Her hobbies were any kind of crafting, crocheting, traveling, reading, especially her Bible, and cooking for large family gatherings. No one left her home hungry! She took pride in all she did. She was a very wise, patient and devout Christian woman, always sharing a Bible verse for any situation. Evelyn wore many hats during her 102 years and 10 months always ready and willing to help anyone in need, and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of her friendship and love.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton; and her children, Kenneth and Hubert, Sharon Wolf and Lois Wharton.

Survivors include her children, Morris (Donna) Hoover and Kathleen "Kathy" Hardman; her 15 grandchildren, Ernee and Lonnie Wolf, Kenny Hoover Jr., Ryon Wharton, Mary Kay, Robert and April, Tammie Collins, Paul Hoover, Amanda Whitehead, Angela Morris, Jennifer Munoz, Brandon Fielders, Nikki Brown, Brittany Avery and all of their spouses; 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank the Colony Health Care Center for all of their care and express a special thank you to Maxine Reid, her aide and friend, for her excellent care, who was so devoted and loving to Evelyn.

The greatest legacy is the love shared by those we leave behind.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio.
