Evelyn T. Kilmire, 72, passed away on October 1, 2023. She was born on October 4, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Tony Delia and Paula Weimer. Evelyn attended West Junior High, Buchtel and Garfield High Schools. Evelyn was a woman of faith and a devoted Catholic. She began her career by first caring for her beloved mother who was her best friend, and will now be reunited with her. Evelyn begun driving a bus for Weaver Workshop. She got stuck in the tunnel bridge, which she thought was the funniest story to tell that all the passengers exited out the back emergency door. Evelyn was also known as being ornery at any cost and would drop her daughter, Kimi off at East High School, in the big yellow Weaver School bus often making a scene while Kimi was mortified. She then continued on in the medical field beginning at Akron General Medical Center, then with private Nursing Care for many years always showing love, compassion and dedication.
Evelyn enjoyed cigarettes, cats, bingo, slot machines, coffee, tequila of course with salt and lime, Cleveland Cavaliers, murder mysteries, clam chowder, reuben sandwiches, anchovy pizzas, and loved rare prime rib.
Evelyn enjoyed playing "pinchy crab" with her beloved grandchildren. She was also delighted in showing them how she could squeeze mashed potatoes out of her mouth, asking "want to see a pimple?" Evelyn would delight and laugh at always throwing up her middle fingers or peace signs in the air and lighting up any room with her dark humor.
Her favorite "vacation" holiday was the Fourth of July family reunions with her dear sister, Jo Ann, her buttermilk chicken was always on their menu and the love she put into that chicken everyone raved about it. Her face lit up with giving out the prizes to all the children and adults too!
She will always be remembered for her humor, exaggerated stories, being a lifelong prankster, love of music "oldies", taking great pride in making food which was her love language, but above all she had a huge heart of gold, and absolute and unconditional love of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tony Delia and Pauline (Russ) Weimer; James Kilmire the love of her life; sister Pam Daubney; and brother Joseph Delia.
Evelyn is survived by her children Kimberly (David) Martin, Christy (Matt) Sorboro, James Kilmire, and personal Nurse & chauffeur, only to be paid with love Paulette Kilmire; grandchildren Cole, Rachel, Tristian, Noah, Andrew, Isabella, Jillianne, Aubree, and Jaden Dominick; great-grandchildren Adelyn Skye, and Ava Grace, along with bundle of joy coming; siblings Jo Ann Ulanowski, Clifford Weimer, Tami (Luke) Meade, and Mona Devasthali; special niece Kathy (Ron) Sterba, and many other relatives and friends.
