Evelyn F. Upchurch
Evelyn F. Upchurch, 86, of Akron, passed away August 29, 2004 at Hospice Care Center. She was born May 1, 1918 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Alvin & Susan (Corners) Willis. Evelyn was a member of New Horizons Christian Church and a previous member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. Upchurch; daughter, Shirley A. Bobo; great-grandson, Randy Suiter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dean & Phyllis Upchurch of Akron; grandchildren, Thomas (Anita) Kraft, Susan (Dennis) Bass, Margaret (Maurice) Bobo-Smith, Deanna R. Upchurch; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 1 - 2 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Jim Bane officiating. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her special friends. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
