Everett Batten
Everett Batten, 85, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2006. Everett proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 43 1/2 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Patricia; sons, Grayson (Judy) Corder, Don (Lori) Batten, and Robert (Petria) Corder; brothers, Roy (Ruth) Batten and Arthur (Betty) Batten; grandchildren, Amelia Ann Batten, Natalie Rose Batten, David Corder, and Michelle (William) Hostutler; great-grandchildren, Annelise Madison and Asia Lynn Hostutler. Family and friends may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487.
