Everett Wayne Gowin

January 25, 1933 — January 7, 2017

Everett Wayne Gowin, age 83 formerly of Mogadore, Ohio, died on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Brookdale Ravenna.

He was born on January 25, 1933 in Akron, the son of the late Edward and Alda Kaufman Gowin.

Everett worked and retired from Chrysler in Twinsburg as a tool and die maker. After he retired he enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Everett was also an honorably discharged US Army Veteran during the Korean War.

Survivors include his two daughters, Delinda "Dee" Kovacs (fiance Rob Harris) and Brenda (Joe) Hudkins; four grandchildren, Erica (Kris) Cofojohn, Matt Kovacs, Megan Baldridge, and Jessica Kovacs-Smith; six great-grandchildren, Josephine, Madison, Taylor, Gabriel, Emmett, and Norah.

Other than his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mona Varner, on August 12, 2003, they were united in marriage on July 31, 1955; and two brothers and three sisters, Elry, Jim, Audrey, LaRue, and Elaine.

Per Everett's wishes there will be private graveside military services and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.

Everett's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio along side his wife.
