Florence DuCharme, age 95, passed away with peace and grace on November 5, 2020. Florence was born on July 20,1925 in Pittsburgh, PA to her late parents Anthony and Louise (Mikulic) Severyn. She graduated from Canonsburg High School and moved to Akron, OH as a young woman to begin a career as an administrative assistant at Firestone Rubber Company. After meeting and marrying her late husband Paul DuCharme, she devoted her entire life to nurturing and raising her four children and later grandchildren. She was the faithful cheerleader on the sidelines to all of her family's sporting events in addition to her favorite Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Florence was one of the founding parishioners of St. Hilary Parish, a dedicated person to Bath Volunteers, and worked for the Summit County Board of Elections. When she was not dedicating her time to her family and tending her beautiful gardens admired by many, you would find her in the kitchen baking for family and for the prison ministry for St. Hilary until she was 92. Her kindness was felt by so many.
Florence was the beloved mother of the late Denise DuCharme, as well as Paul DuCharme Jr., Dennis (Kathy) DuCharme, Diane (Knute) Galbraith and Anne (Brian) Davis. Grandma Flo was cherished by her grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, Timothy DuCharme, Kimberly (Tim) Wechter, Scott (Abigail) DuCharme, Melissa (Andrew) Beck, Laura (Dustin) Bell, John Galbraith, Brian Jr., Patrick and Nicholas Davis. She was also the dear Great Grandma Flo to Claire, Garrett, Marielle, George, Brody, Carly, Harper, Kennedy and Liam.
Florence was the sister of Dr. Walter Severyn of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by sisters Jean Piechnik, Josephine Seward, Virginia Mack and Louise Cimino; and brothers Dr. Stanley Severyn, Henry Severyn, Chester Severyn, Dr. Fred Severyn, Tony Severyn, and Dr. Theodore Severyn. Aunt Flo was the fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
