Floyd A. Doak, 81, of Akron passed away on February 27, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1943 the son of the late Woodrow and Opal Doak. Floyd was known for his dedication to both his family and friends.

He began his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1967 and retired after many years of dedicated service.

Floyd's fondest childhood memory was of living with his father in Tennessee, a time filled with adventures that shaped his character and resilience.

Floyd was a proud member of the Barberton Moose Lodge, a place that brought him joy and friendships over the years. He was passionate about golf, playing in the Moose Golf League for 15 years. His enthusiasm and skill on the course were highlighted by an impressive achievement-a celebrated hole-in-one at Mayfield Golf Course, a testament to his love for the game and the enjoyment he found in it.

He was not only devoted to his family but also took on the challenge of building his home predominantly by his own hands, showcasing his determination and craftsmanship. This home became a place filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. 

Floyd’s presence in the lives of those who knew him will be dearly missed. His legacy of strong values, community involvement, and passion for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Beloved wife of 52 years, Sandra Doak; and brother Eddie Dean Doak.

Floyd is survived by his loving family, sons Gary (Sherry) Doak and Darrell Doak (Jane); grandchildren Jeremy (Whitney), Brian (Alicia), Amanda, Joshua (Trisha), Nicole (Steve), Zack, Alex (Ariel), and Dustin (Hailey); great-grandchildren Brian "Buddy", Blaine, Liam, Matthew, Adam, Savannah, Allison, Nora, Hayden, Olivia, Chandler, Dylan, and Tatum; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, Thursday, March 6th, at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 2:00pm with Pastor Steve Neumeyer officiating.

Interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
