Floyd Stair, 79, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 24, 2011. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Ohio Edison after 48 years of service. Floyd enjoyed painting, singing, playing the guitar, and baseball. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Barbara; children, Patricia (Wayne) Kiger, Scott (Crystal) Stair, Jeffery Stair, Rachel Barnett, and Susan Stair; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 28, from 2 to 4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Monday, August 29, at 2 pm with Pastor Dave Saxton officiating with a visitation two hours prior.
