Floyd "Gene" Williams, 86, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2017. He was born in Akron on May 16, 1931. Gene retired in 1997 after 47 years of service at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was a devoted family man, a great provider and a friend to many. Gene had a tremendous work ethic, enjoyed making people laugh and playing practical jokes.
Gene is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Gross; brothers, William Williams Jr. and Clarence Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy; children, Rick (Donna) Williams and Donna Piatt; and grandchildren, Nicholas Williams and Christopher (Lorene) Piatt.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
