Francis Elbridge Patrick Clark, Jr. (Frank) passed away at the age of 85 on the 22nd of January 2022 while at Bath Creek Estates. Within 22 hours of his death, he was joined by his wife Marilyn. Marilyn's life is covered by a separate obituary.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francis E. and Florence, sister Joann, and brothers Art and Kevin.
He is survived by his children Mark (Debbie) and Keith; grandchildren Keri DiGeroloma, Mark Clark, Jr.; great grandchildren Cydnee Morris, Bailey Clark, and Brandon DiGeroloma; great-great grandchild Isaiah Allen.
Frank was raised in Cuyahoga Falls and remained a life-long resident.
He was an employee for the City of Cuyahoga Falls for a total of 36 years, first as a lineman in the Electric Department and then as a Lieutenant for the Fire Department. Earlier in life he ran his own home improvement business and also worked as a realtor for Dick Weber Realty. He was one of the favorite study hall monitors at Cuyahoga Falls High School. He continued working later in life as a grocery bagger at the Acme on State Road.
Frank married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Kaugher; and they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this April.
Frank loved life and brought joy to those he touched by always having a story to tell. The grandchildren received his joy through his singing "Zippity Doo Dah" and old Irish songs.
Frank loved sports his entire life. In high school, he excelled in wrestling and football. As an adult, he played baseball and softball. Later he coached Little League Baseball and coached wrestling for St. Joseph Church. His attendance at basketball games, wrestling matches, and soccer games was a given. He was there to support and cheer for his family member. Later in life he continued his love of sports by frequenting sporting events. And even though he had to go in a wheelchair with a portable oxygen tank, he was still healthy enough to give the referee a piece of his mind and get rejected from the basketball game.
His interests throughout the years included fishing at the Outer Banks; woodcarving with his finished pieces gifted to family and friends; completing numerous word search puzzles; and feeding the wildlife that frequented his back yard.
As a devout Catholic, he was active in serving as an usher for many years at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Falls Firefighter Community Fund, P.O. Box 1022, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be performed on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. In addition, the last alarm for a fireman will be performed by the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department.
