Frank A. Engler
Frank A. Engler, passed away January 25, 2010 in Brimfield at the home of his sister and brother-in-law. Kathleen and Jeff Gambone generously took Frank into their home and lovingly cared for him during his courageous nine month battle with cancer. Frank was born on July 24, 1956 to Frank D. and Doris Engler. He grew up in Brimfield where he attended Field Schools. He worked as a roofer and maintenance worker in the Kent and Akron areas most of his life. Frank was a kind and gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Doris and devoted stepfather, Anton Proschko; sisters, Kathleen (Jeff) Gambone and Cynthia (Ed) Kneale of Hudson, FL; brothers, Gerald of Tallmadge and Mark of Akron; nieces, Stacey (Jeff) Geib, Heather (James) Jacobs, Emily Gambone, Kellene and Kaitlin Kneale, and Jessie Engler; nephews, Todd (Rita) Arbogast, Cory (Brittany), Frank D II, and Ryan Engler; great-niece, Jillian Jacobs; great-nephews, Ronin Jacobs and Kaden Engler; step-niece, Rhiannon Gambone and step-great-nieces, Savannah and Evelyn Geib; grandmother, Elizabeth M. Botz; aunts, Jeannette Kehner, Vivian (James) Back, Elizabeth Wiland, and Donna (Bill) Derita; uncle, Sebastian (Joyce) Botz; many cousins and numerous friends. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank D. Engler; and grandparents, Herbert and Velma Engler and Sebastian M. Botz. A special thanks to Dr. Jen-Nan Yuh, Dr. Michael Fromm, Dr. Frederick Marquinez, Darcy and Greg Angle and Crossroads Hospice for their kindness and gentle care to our precious son and brother during his illness.
