Frank Bernard

Frank Bernard, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 22, 2023. Born in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph and Betty Bernard, he had been a resident of Green, Ohio since 1991. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1965 and entered the U. S. Air Force in 1966. He worked at Packard Electric from 1966 to 1975 and then moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1976, where he resided until 1991. He owned and operated J. F. Bernard, Inc. with his brother, until retiring in 2000. Frank was an avid classic car enthusiast and he enjoyed spending winters in Florida, playing poker, time in his garage and spending time with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years, Kathie (Toth); children, Colleen (Steve) Noffert, Frank Bernard and the true joys of his life: his granddaughters, Gracyn Noffert, Peri Noffert, Kenzie Bernard, Madisyn Bernard; siblings, Joseph (Ann) Bernard, Roseann (Karl) Albaugh; many nieces and nephews as well as friends from the many car clubs.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
