Frank S. Bowling, 69, of Deltona, Florida and formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on December 29, 2018. Frank proudly served in the US Army for three years. He worked as a railroad conductor for 37 years and retired from Norfolk Southern.
Frank loved spending time in the sun and by the pool. He loved Cadillac's and was a proud owner of four of them over the years. One of his favorite hobbies was restoring his 1950 Ford F1 pickup truck. He enjoyed traveling, and one of his favorite places to visit was Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, James and Naomi Bowling.
He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Jackie Bowling and Melissa (Eric) Ritter; brothers, Jim (Nora) Bowling, and Ronnie Bowling; grandchildren, Austin Ritter, Brock Ervin, Brooke Ritter, and Skyler Ervin; and many friends (many of whom were female).
Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, to visit on January 9, 2019 from 4pm until 6pm. A funeral service will take place at 6pm.
