Frank P. Klainer (Butch)
Frank P. Klainer (Butch), 74, a lifetime resident of Akron, passed away October 23, 2004 after an extended battle with cancer. Frank worked a majority of his career at General Tire and retired from Frank Lucco Co. He was captain of the 1948 Garfield High City Championship basketball team and was an army veteran. Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in taking care of his family, especially the grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Klainer; wife, Gloria Klainer; and sisters, Annie, Julia, and Victoria. He is survived by sons, Rick (Marilyn) Klainer and Gary (Beth) Klainer; grandchildren, Michelle (Geoff) Huffman and Shannon and Nathan Klainer; brothers, John and Paul; sister, Theresa; many relatives and friends. Friends and family may call Tuesday, October 26 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to give their deepest appreciation to the staff at Summa Hospital, Altercare of Hartville, and Heather Knoll.
