Frank J. "Sonny" Novak, Jr.
Frank J. "Sonny" Novak, Jr., 64, of Akron, died on October 18, 2005 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1941 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Frank & Mary Novak, Sr. Frank was a Case Manager for the County of Summit Child Support Enforcement Agency. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Frank was involved with Boy Scouts, sports and active in many political campaigns. He enjoyed playing poker, especially Texas Hold 'em and was known as "Big Daddy." Frank never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Carolyn S. (Mills) Novak; daughter, Kimberly Rife of Akron; sons, Shawn (Lisa) Stack of Stow and Michael (Carolyn) Stack of Norton; grandchildren, Kayla, Lindsey, Logan, Jordan, Nicholas, Mirisa, Cody and Samantha; sister, Joan Butzer; mother-in-law, Bernette Mills. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Rev. Bob Stephens officiating.
