Franklin D. Bennett, 78, passed away September 3, 2011. He enjoyed working on his cars, crafts, and loved to travel. He was a loving, devoted, hard working husband and father. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Alice G. (Wigal) Bennett; and sisters, Roxie Bennett, Virginia Dillworth, and Ethel Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jewel; daughters, Linda S. (Raymond) Heilman, Cynthia L. Bennett, and Carla M. Bennett; grandchildren, Danielle, Erik (Mandy), Shelly, Adam, and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, and Regan; and sister, Adeline Baxter. We the family would like to thank the Hospice of Summa for their care and thoughtfulness. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 7, from 6 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Thursday, September 8, at 12 noon with Rev. Mike Shaub officiating. Franklin's burial is to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
