Franklin Smith

Franklin E. Smith, 72, born February 6, 1933, passed away on January 25, 2006, after a lengthy illness. He retired from the General Tire Co. and later from Duncan's Trailer Sales. Franklin also was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Army . He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Rosie Smith; 3 children; and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carolyn; 10 children; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. He will be sadly missed his family. Calling hours will be Sunday, 4-6 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service Monday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Fred Warner officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by Mogadore VFW Post 8487.
