Fred Scaglione, Sr.
Fred Scaglione, Sr., 87, passed away August 18, 2011. He was born February 6, 1924 in New York City, moving to Akron, Ohio as a young man. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during WWII. He retired from Firestone after 41 years. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law/godson Marydeb and Bill Bleau of Memphis TN along with their children Sarah Bleau (Albany GA) and Vincent Bleau (Memphis TN); son and daughter-in-law Bob and Leslie Scaglione of Willits CA along with their children; son and daughter-in-law Fred and JoAnn Scaglione along with their children Kellie (Danny) Chapman, Fred Scaglione III, Anthony Scaglione, Carrie(Kevin) Emhoff all of Akron Ohio; beloved companion Charlotte Enos along with her children and grandchildren; sisters Mary Santaferrarro of Campbell CA and Louise (Joe) Adiala of Akron Ohio. Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 21, from 4 to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 22, at Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 am. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial for Fred will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH, 44333 or Our Lady of Victory Church.
