Freddie Lee Foster, Jr, 84, passed away January 4, 2024 with his family by his side. Born in Ravenna, Ohio to Fred Sr. and Myrtie (Reagan) Foster, he resided in Akron all of his life and graduated from Hower Vocational High School. Freddie retired as an Industrial Salesman from Mau-Sherwood after 47 years of service. He belonged to the Ohio Country & Western Music Association and played in multiple local country bands as a drummer, bass player and singer. Freddie enjoyed his cabin in southern Ohio, watching the Dallas Cowboys, his vintage 1957 Chevy, horseback riding and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Connie; children, Ronnie, Connie K.; great granddaughter, Summer Michelle; siblings, Agnes Lute, Betty Hallman, Pauline Long. He will be sadly missed by his children, Chris (Mike) Goudy, Wayne (Pam) Foster, Lee Ann (Gregg) Clay; grandchildren, Michael (Karla), Ronald (Karissa), Jennifer (James), Sydney (Jonathan), Brandi (Chad), Emily; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Thursday, January 18 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Freddie's name to the American Cancer Society.
