Frederick James Chrien

Frederick "Fred" James Chrien, 78 of New Franklin passed away on December 9, 2021.

Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, James (Allison) Chrien, Denise (Stuart) Krivitzkin, and Kathy (Jimmy) DiFeo; grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Caleb, James II, Andrew, and Mandy (Sanjiv); and great-grandchildren, Deviana, Chase, and Sai.

Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores.

Fred had a love for old cars, casinos, golfing, helping others, spending time with friends, and going out on his boats. He ran his own business with the help of many, was both generous and vexing, was genuinely loved by others, and his name was a term of endearment and a four-letter sentence capable of expressing multitudes.

Having grown up in Lakewood, Ohio, Fred raised his own family in Medina before settling in New Franklin.

Friends and family may come to call on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial to take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina.
