Frederick D. Kopsky

Fred departed this world in the loving arms of his wife, Joanne (Goldie)and son, Jon while Leah held his hand. He was born in Toronto, Ohio to the late John and Pauline Kopsky. Fred worked at Goodyear for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He served his country in World War II on the USS Tennessee and USS Nashville. He served in the Reserves during the Korean War. Waiting to greet their brother in heaven are Richard, David, Edward, and sister-in-law, Pat. During his illness, Fred was able to talk with his sister-in-law, Jean in Texas on Webcam and his nephew, John in Virginia. Fred leaves behind his sister, Shirley Keyser (Richard), many nieces, nephews, and friends. Frederick and Joanne (Hileman) would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at their favorite place, "Rockin on the River" in the Falls. A sincere appreciation to Dr. Joseph Meli, his wife Mary and Hospice of Visiting Nurses. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A celebration of life will take place at the mausoleum at Mt. Peace Cemetery on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. "Heavy Hard Work Is All I Ever Knew."
