Frederick W. Dengler, Jr.



Frederick W. Dengler, Jr., 86, passed away on February 4, 2007. Born in New Castle, PA, to the late Frederick and Sara Dengler. Frederick served with the US Army in WWII and was awarded a Bronze Star. He retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service and was a lifetime member of VFW Airport Post. Frederick also enjoyed fishing. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret; sisters Viola Shira and Thelma Reitz; daughter-in-law Mary Nikic; and great-grandson Cole. Survivors include sons Fred Dengler, Mark (Cheryl) Nikic, and Frank Nikic; sisters Mildred Anttila and Sally (James) Wright; brothers Carl and Eugene (Alberta) Dengler; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and special caregiver Elaine Box. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 16155 W. Market St. Suite 340, Akron, OH 44313.
