Frederick R. Beebe
CWO-4 Frederick Richard Beebe, 50, passed away in Lafayette, Louisiana on December 15, 2005. Fred had recently retired after 22 years of service to his country in the US Army. Fred was a helicopter pilot in the Army and served two remote tours in Korea and one combat tour in Saudi Arabia/Iraq. Affectionately know to his friends as "Freddie", he was a true servant to all that he knew. He is survived by his family, wife, Ginger Beebe and two sons, Sean and Ryan Beebe; brother and sister in law, Gary and Jan Beebe; brother, Gregory Beebe; mother, Doris J. Beebe. His father, CWO-3 Robert E. Beebe, also an Army helicopter pilot preceded him in death in 1965.
Born an Army "brat" on June 27, 1955 at Ft Monmouth, NJ he graduated from Ellet High School in 1973, Kent State University and worked for General Tire. He decided to become an Army helicopter pilot like his dad.
He flew "Huey" and Black Hawk helicopters in Texas, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, El Salvador, Louisiana, Georgia and Korea. All that knew him will remember his big smile and gentle spirit. Husband, father, brother, son, patriot, aviator, officer and friend-Fred Beebe never knew a stranger. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 22 at the Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23. Interment will follow at Hilside Memorial Park.
