Frederick A. Sowash

Frederick A. Sowash, 85, passed away at home December 8, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Lucas, Ohio to Emil and Elizabeth (Schuff) Sowash, he resided in the Akron area most of his adult life. He previously worked in the optical profession before eventually retiring from Acme. Fred enjoyed playing golf, watching football, ushering at church and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey; infant son, Daniel: siblings, Marjorie, David, Dewey, Doris, Mary Ann. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Ellen; daughter, Kathy (Ray) Myers; grandchildren, Justin, Charlie, Noah, Caleb; siblings, Robert (Diana) Sowash, Bill (Sandy) Sowash, Charlotte Wilson; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Promedica Hospice for their loving care of Fred.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, December 16, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44306. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Fred's name to Grace Baptist Church.
