G. David Akin
G. David Akin, 58, passed away on July 9, 2007. David was born on December 24, 1948 in Lafayette, TN to the late Clarence Akin and Florence Perkins. He served with the US Navy during Vietnam and had formerly been employed at Rubbermaid. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered as someone who was very caring and eager to help anyone in need. Survivors include his loving wife Chris of 22 years; daughters Carie (Justin) Murphy and Wendy Sample; sons David (Erica) and Sean; sister Mary (Ed) Hefner; brother Clifton (Susan); grandchildren Lucas and Nicholas Akin, and Keely, Cuyler, and Teagan Murphy; and numerous other family members and friends. Calling hours will be TODAY, 2-4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. with a funeral service immediately following at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
