Gail W. Collins, 80, of Akron, passed away January 29, 2011. He was born in Burning Springs, West Virginia on February 13, 1930. Gail proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954. He retired from General Tire after 26 1/2 years of service and also worked as a security guard. Gail was preceded in death by his father, William Homer Collins; mother, Alice Mills; and brother, Franklin (Shirley) Collins. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Collins; children, Gail W. Collins, Jr., Elizabeth Ann Collins, Carl McCloud Collins, Nora K. Jett, Russell R. (Linda) Jett, and Rhonda M. Murray; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
