Gale Lynn Phelps, age 70 of Akron passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on May 10, 1951 to the late Grover and Velva {Knight} Phelps.
Gale will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Karen; daughter Jennifer Phelps; brother Glen Phelps; friends and family in Akron and West Virginia; his Tuesday Golf League; the Cuyahoga Falls Campers; and friends from Quality Body Shop.
In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Dianne Phelps.
All are welcome to visit on Tuesday, November 16 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Norma Bates officiating. Military honors will follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Gale will be laid to rest.
