Garnet Jean Pursley, age 91 of Hudson, Ohio, died on June 22, 2021 at Heritage of Hudson.
She was born on May 13, 1930 in Akron, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (nee Dedman) Carson Sr.
Garnet loved to go to yard sales and play cards. She was a homemaker and she understood what hard work was in raising a family.
Survivors include her children, Bernard (Barbara) Pursley Jr, Barbara (Ronald) Gray, Susan Duncan and Nancy (William) Parsons; her grandchildren, Brennan (Shoshana) Pursley, Benjamin Pursley, Michael Pursley, Leslie Gray, Afton Gray, Amy (Al) Bess, Robert (Rachel) Duncan Jr, Eric (Kathleen) Duncan, Clinton Duncan, Katie Duncan, Lily Parsons and Paul Parsons; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Liam, Christopher, Nathan, Donovan, John, Kimberly, Matthew, Madison, Mason, Micah, Jacob and Hannah.
Garnet's brother also survives, George (Shelly) Carson.
Other than her parents, Garnet was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Pursley Sr; her son, Kevin Pursley; and her four brothers, Ralph Jr, Raymond, Robert and Richard Carson.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in Garnet's memory.
