Garry Allen Hively was born May 19, 1941, passed away on March 18, 2024 at the age of 83. Oldest son of Paul and Charlotte Hively of Alliance, Ohio. Wife Kathleen Barnes Hively, Daughter Debbie Myers (Mitch), Son Mike Hively, sisters Judy Bizub (Bob), Paula Copen (Tex), Alexis Copeland, brothers Jim Hively (Cindy) and Eugene Hively (Florence). Grandsons Noah Lovas, Christopher Demoss, Alex Lovas.
Garry was a life long member of The Salvation Army. He was a Sunday School teacher, taught various musical instruments to the children, played piano every Sunday for many years at Akron Citadel and Wadsworth Corps, Attended Salvation Army Canton Corps. Garry was very proud of his Salvation Army Bandmaster Commission from Wadsworth Corps.

Tuba and euphonium player for over 30 years with Doppel Adler German Band, Goodyear Band, and Jack Scott's bands (Trinity Band, Bethany Band and the original Grotto Band), and for a short time with Hudson Community Band.
For many years, Garry loved to bowl with the Ford Bowling Team.
Tool and Die Maker for over 35 years at Ford Motor Company.
Garry was loved and admired by a large and close family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Salvation Army (190 S. Maple St., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00am with Majors Tom and Debbie Grace officiating.
Interment will be held at Hartzel Cemetery (317 Hartzel Rd.)
