Gary Robert Edwards, age 66 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died on March 3, 2021 after suffering a massive heart attack.
He was born on April 1, 1954 in Akron, the son of Evelyn (nee Carkhuff) Edwards of Stow, Ohio, and the late Cecil Edwards.
Gary was an honorably discharged US Navy veteran, serving during peacetime.
He was a retired auto mechanic. Gary enjoyed music videos, was a huge history buff and loved to read auto-biographies.
In addition to his mother, other survivors include his loving wife, the former Linda Fiordo, whom he married on December 18, 1987; his children, Jennifer Edwards and Clayten Edwards; his siblings, Marilyn (Don) Bennington, Shirley Riggs and Charles Edwards; as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn his loss.
Other than his father, Gary was preceded in death by his nephew, John Bennington.
There will not be any services or calling hours and Gary's cremated remains will be buried at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
