Gary R. Parker

Gary R. Parker passed away on November 2, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 28, 1944. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1962 before joining the United States Army. Gary served his country in the Vietnam War where he earned many different medals. He retired after 25 years from Kiwi Promotional Apparel.

Gary loved music. He had multiple bands including The Counterpoints and Gary Parker Band. He played up until his recent surgery. He enjoyed estate sales and selling antiques on EBay. He was a very generous man and he will be missed by so many. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barb Chatman; step-daughters, Michelle (Bob) Moran and Kelly Stemple; step-son, Michael Chatman; brother, James Parker; granddaughters, Crystal (Greg) Haskins, Jessie and Ashley Bozzelli; many great-grandchildren; nieces, Jill (Wallis) Linville and Jodi Shultz.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH) on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 2pm until the time the Celebration of Gary's Life begins at 4pm. Pastor Steve Neumeyer will officiate.
